This season we will be breeding our ultramel male to a pair of snakes that don't live at The Reptile Barn! Come along and meet my sister Katie and her two beautiful ball pythons.

Sometimes we get new baby ball pythons that take A LOT longer than their clutch mates to finally shed. But common practice is to start feeding ball pythons only after the first shed. Colin talks a bit about what we think of this.

Colin wanted to give an update on our pair of Dominican Red Mountain Boas.

The First of the Season!! We've got eggs from one of our Pied girls (who bred to our Ultramel Male) and Colin gives you all the first look at the very first clutch of 2018!

We hatched a beautiful clutch of mystics, mojaves, mystic potions, and BELs not long ago, but we've got one little mojave ball python that looks drastically different from his clutch-mates!

In this episode of Exploring Genetics, Colin talks about one of our favorite recessive genes: Citrus Ghost (aka Citrus Hypo).

Colin wants to give an update on our breeder females (including our pair of Dominican Red Mountain Boas!!) and walks through some of the signs we look for that they're progressing towards the end goal: super awesome clutches!

One concern that has stopped several people that we've spoken to from getting their family a pet snake is the belief that if you have any children under the age of 5 in the house, the risk of getting Salmonella from the reptile is incredibly high. Colin addresses how we keep our children (3yrs and younger) safe.
