Our 3 sons with their niji’s singing in the teaching lodge at Shingwauk Kinomage Gamig (Shingwauk University). I know that our ancestors were enjoying the songs too.

We had and incredible time with the students, staff and faculty of Shingwauk Kinomage Gamig (Shingwauk University) and Algoma University. It was a day of Land-Based Learning. Our day consisted of food sovereignty, discussions on subsistence harvesting, hands-on learning, cooking our traditional foods, feasting, Ojibwe songs and a whole lot of laughter.
"Shingwauk Kinoomaage Gamig is committed to the restoration of the original spirit and intent of Chief Shingwauk, who envisioned a teaching wigwam where his people could acquire the necessary educational tools in modern society without comprising the values of our culture and traditions."
We invite you to join our Great Lakes Cultural Camps Community and Shingwauk Kinomage Gamig (Shingwauk University) on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tumblr, Pinterest and YouTube.
